School Groups are welcomed by Fired 4 U – photo school group ancient greek
at any age to do Key stage art work or work towardsArtsmark and Arts awards
I can come out to your school to carry out the projects or you are most welcome to bring your group / class to our studio . I am open to your ideas and suggestions and very happy to evolve your ideas and mine to fit in with what you need.

with visits to our studio or talks in school with samples of what can be done, a talk on how I started Fired 4 U to workshops in school or our studio, work experience, volunteer sessions. Help with planning a design session before our workshops. Please just ask I am happy to help and can be flexible in what we run.

The Ancient Greeks!

Clay bowls and urns decorated in traditional colour.  St. Mary’s Catholic School Great Eccleston made these colour traditional shaped urns and jugs. Some painted ancient Greek style and some modern. St. Mary’s brought their school to the studio and they all made a clay pot Greek style. We fired them and they returned the following month to decorate them.

A class from St.Chads, Whittle le Woods has been studying the Ancient Greeks and Olympics. In art they each drew their own design in this theme to fit onto a mug. When they came to the studio we showed them different ways of decorating the mugs and also showed additional Ancient Greek and Olympic designs which they could use.

Clayton le Woods Primary chose a class to do a tile freeze, using the topics they had studied that year to date. We added 3D flowers, sea life, sun and leaves onto there individual tiles to add a new dimension to the work.

A scout group celebrating the centenary asked me to sketch on the 2 buildings from their camp site onto tiles then took it in turns to paint each section. Each group had a border tile with the group name and they chose a leaf to stamp a design on their group tile. Top corner tiles have their badges painted on. This freeze is now on their church wall. This could easily be applied to a school looking for a project the whole school could do together.

Rewards and Retirement
Leyland St Mary’s Technology College Wind Band commissioned a signature plate for their retiring Head of Music.

Some schools purchase our gift vouchers to give out as rewards or prizes to their pupils.

We have used Fired 4 U several times as a high school and had a fabulous experience each time. Nothing is too much trouble for Jane and her staff. We have used the facilities at the studio and Jane has brought her pottery and paints to us to do in school. Both plates (brush stroke cockerel designs) are now safely installed in the cabinet: they are definitely too nice to eat from! I’ve never known Max to be so pleased about something he has made, so a huge achievement! Even though Jake has always been more interested in art/pottery, his confidence wasn’t that great to begin with so it’s really helped him to see that he can make really great things to be proud of thanks to you! Its a nice calm environment for them to work in. Sarah(these children are home schooled and have a lesson at Fired 4 U each month)
